The House of Hope and Joy was formed in September of 2007 by Bev & Al Carpenter out of a great need in the St. Marc community in Haiti. Wadson and Esther Murat are now the Directors of the House of Hope and Joy and provide care for the 12 children that currently live at the children’s home. There are 7 Haitian staff members that help with daily care. Mission 1:11 desires to help these children become educated, healthy individuals that grow in God’s love in a family setting.   We provide guidance to help the children be self-sufficient, so they may become thriving members of their community.
